Virus

Dangerous virus broke free. You have to sneak into the secret lab and find the virus, you are running out of time.

Bunker

You have found an underground shelter. The owner of this bunker hides many secrets and does not like uninvited guests. You cannot stay here any longer, you have to find a map of survivors and leave to bunker as soon as possible.

Although we did manage to fight off the Virus outbreak, we still had to seek shelter in the Bunker right after.

Our Experience

Our experience at Trapped in Bratislava was an interesting one. It is located directly in the city centre – right in the middle of Oldtown. Which meant we combined it with a nice Breakfast in the more touristy-part of Bratislava and headed for the location right afterwards. And while both rooms were clean and we didn’t experience any big issues, the rooms didn’t impress us too much – granted, it was the last Escape Room venue we visited, so we might have been a bit tired after a whole Escape Room weekend

The waiting area is rather small, so do not show up too early. After we put away our staff, we got a short but nice introduction by the owner and started with our first room – Virus. The room was very clean and looked rather new, which was refreshing. Sadly, we never really got into a good flow during the game. While most puzzles felt like they had a logical solution once we got to the start of if, we mainly struggled to actually find what to start with. On the other hand, we could always call the game master and ask for hints, which were very helpful once we requested them. The game itself had some nice “aha”-moments for us, but sadly we needed to ask a lot for clues.

We had a similar experience in the second room Bunker. While the setup and decoration were nice as well and we actually felt impressed how bunker-like the whole atmosphere was, we also didn’t really find a good game flow and struggled to find the starting point of various puzzles – we did a bit better though than in the first room. While we did feel like there was a big time-stealing puzzle/task in the middle of the game connected to morse, we also encountered one standout puzzle which used augmented reality in a very cool way which we didn’t expect at all.

Overall, Trapped Bratislava is very well located and offers two clean and well-built rooms with a very nice owner. We did struggle with the overall game flow, but to be fair, it might have been connected to an Escape-Room burnout. It was not our favourite venue in Bratislava, but the games are very well priced and perfect for 2-Person groups as they even offer a discount on top of the already-low price.

Summary

Trapped Bratislava offers two rooms with Virus and Bunker. Both themes are typical Escape Room tropes, but they work well with that. They are nicely located in the centre of Bratislava Oldtown, so you can combine the visit with a short sightseeing-walk. Overall, we had fun and they are still worth a visit considering the great price, but they were not our favourite rooms in Bratislava.
